Privacy Policy

Effective: August 1, 2026 · Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Who we are

DealIQ is a powersports valuation tool operated by McDaniel Motorsports, a US-based powersports dealership in Georgia. This policy explains what we collect when you use DealIQ, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

Questions? Email trentonmc3@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Account info

  • Name (optional on signup, required on the waitlist)
  • Email address
  • Password — stored as a hash by our auth provider (Supabase). We never see your plain-text password.
  • Phone number — collected only on the waitlist form, so we can text the launch link.

Usage data

  • Analyses you run: vehicle details (make/model/year/condition), photos you upload, location info you provide, deal-score outputs.
  • Search history and saved comps.
  • Pages you visit within the app.

Automatic data

  • IP address.
  • Browser type, device type, OS (from your user-agent).
  • Cookies used to keep you signed in — primarily the Supabase session cookie.

Listing scrape data

To produce market comps, DealIQ scrapes publicly-posted listings from Facebook Marketplace (via Apify). We collect the listing content — price, vehicle details, description, photos — not the personal information of the seller. We don’t link scraped listings to user accounts on Facebook, and we don’t resell or republish seller identities.

3. How we use it

  • To provide valuations, comps, and analysis history for your account.
  • To improve our valuation engine using aggregated and anonymized data — meaning data with no information that identifies you personally.
  • To send transactional emails: invite links, password resets, account-confirmation emails, security notifications, billing notices.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • To respond to your support requests.

We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your data.

4. Who we share with

Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors to run DealIQ:

  • Vercel — hosting and edge delivery.
  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
  • Anthropic — Claude AI for valuation analysis and photo review. Inputs sent to Claude are not used by Anthropic to train their models.
  • Apify — web scraping of public marketplace listings.
  • Twilio — SMS messaging (used for waitlist launch notifications and, once launched, account alerts you opt into).

Each vendor only receives the data they need to do their job, and each is bound by their own privacy and security obligations.

Legal

We may disclose information if required by law — for example, in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or government request — or when we believe disclosure is necessary to investigate fraud, protect rights, or prevent imminent harm.

Business transfers

If DealIQ or McDaniel Motorsports is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal. We’ll notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

What we don’t do

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

5. Cookies and tracking

We keep cookies minimal. The main cookie we set is the Supabase authentication cookie, which keeps you signed in. We may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for CSRF protection and session continuity.

We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers or marketing pixels. If that changes, we’ll update this policy and surface a cookie notice before enabling them.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete your account — either from /buyer/account or by emailing trentonmc3@gmail.com.
  • Correct account information that’s wrong.
  • Opt out of marketing emails or SMS (if we ever send any). Transactional messages — like password resets — will keep coming as long as your account is active.
  • Object to specific processing, or request a portable copy of your data.

These rights are inspired by the CCPA (California) and GDPR (Europe), and we try to honor them for every user regardless of location. To exercise any of them, email trentonmc3@gmail.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time — usually within 30 days.

7. Data retention

We keep your analyses and account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • Account records and analyses are removed from active systems within 30 days.
  • Encrypted backups containing residual copies are purged on a rolling cycle within 90 days.
  • We may retain a minimal record (e.g., a hashed email) where required for fraud prevention or legal recordkeeping.

Scraped listing data (which doesn’t identify you) and aggregated/anonymized analytics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Children

DealIQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (COPPA). We recommend the service for users 16 and older. For actual vehicle purchases, you must be of legal age in your jurisdiction.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, email trentonmc3@gmail.com and we will delete it.

9. Security

We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data: TLS for data in transit, Supabase’s Row Level Security to isolate user records, hashed passwords, and least-privilege access for our team. No system, however, is 100% secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your account, we’ll notify you as required by applicable law.

You can help by using a strong, unique password and reporting suspicious activity to trentonmc3@gmail.com.

10. International users

DealIQ is operated from the United States, and our infrastructure (Vercel, Supabase) is US-based. If you use the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using DealIQ, you consent to this transfer. US data-protection law may be different from the law where you live.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves or as laws change. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, when reasonable, notify you by email or in-app before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact

Privacy questions, data requests, or complaints: trentonmc3@gmail.com.

Mailing address available on request. We’re a small team — you’re emailing a real human.
